When I make these watercolor paintings, I'm aware that cameras and AI can make the art much faster than me. So I make these paintings using techniques that optimize the strengths of this medium.Exaggerated color palettes and wild brush strokes give the viewer a stronger sense of the communication happening between my mind, eyes, and hand as I make art. It's very low tech and personal. There are faster ways to make art, but none that express me better.

I had been painting for about 3 months, watching tutorials on uou tube, practicing different techniques. I was feeling confident. I had a blank sheet and some inspirational pictures around me and started to build a picture. Once the flow came it was like a wave, not stopping until I wad happy, finishing it off with the bee in the flower. I love bees. Felt overjoyed at my achievement in this piece.

Title or Location: Lunch Counter/ Madrid Spain
Went to Spain for 2 weeks a year ago. While thrilled to see the work of Velasquez, Goya, Microsoft and Picasso, it was a treat to be part of everyday life there. This was a scene I photographed at an enormous Farmers Market. The color of the bread caught my eye. Madrilenos have wine with lunch. So civilized.
